Section 10
Information to be given to the client
: (1) Every health institution and health worker providing treatment shall inform the client about the following matters:-
(a) To each client regarding his health and treatment status, but there is no obstacle for the health institution to keep such information confidential if there is sufficient basis to inform the client's health status that may be contrary to his or the community's interest.
(b) regarding the diagnosis of disease, the natural consequences of the diagnosed disease and the level of services and options related to treatment,
(c) regarding the estimated costs and potential consequences associated with health care options,
(d) regarding the refusal of health care services by the consumer and the possible consequences, risks and liabilities that may arise from the refusal of services.
(2) When the health institution provides the information as per sub-section (1) to the client, it shall be provided in a language that the client can understand as far as possible.
(3) Notwithstanding anything written in sub-sections (1) and (2), in cases where the information about the health condition of the service recipient cannot be given to the concerned service recipient, it shall be given to the member of his family who has reached the age.
